Book with usWelcome to Gwithian Holidays
Gwithian holidays is a family run business. Three generations of the family live in the village and we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else in the world. We love where we live and we look forward to showing you around.
We are always on hand to offer help and ideas around things to do and places to go – it’s just deciding what to do first that’s the tricky bit!
For any surf advice, tips on the best beaches and information on the local attractions then don’t hesitate to ask. Tyson and Ruth (and the next generation of the Greenaway family, Finn) love to surf, SUP and spend as much time at the beach as they can.
Finn’s grandmother, Liz, can tell you where the best restaurants, coffee shops and golf courses are.
Whether you want a relaxing break or a more active holiday we have loads of suggestions to help you get the most out of this beautiful and unspoilt part of Cornwall.
Gwithian Holidays is situated in the heart of Gwithian village, a short stroll down the road will take you past our local country pub, St Gothian’s 13thcentury Church, Methodist chapel, picturesque country cottages, the local nature reserve and finally down to the 3 mile long stretch of golden sands. We may be biased but it definitely is quite a rarity to be so close to the beach but still surrounded by beautiful countryside.
St.Ives is the honey pot of the area – the place where most tourists flock to for their summer holidays. Gwithian remains a hidden gem and is only a short drive away from the hustle and bustle of St.Ives.
If you like tea and cake or a hearty breakfast out – there are 3 fabulous cafes within easy walking distance.
Just a few miles inland is the town of Hayle which offers a good choice of pubs and places to eat and a few miles further lies the popular harbour town of St Ives with its countless cafes, bars and restaurants.
The perfect location for a holiday in Cornwall
St Ives bay is renowned for its surfing and windsurfing and is well patrolled by lifeguards during the summer season. The beach is ideal for playing in the waves, large enough to find solitude and perfect for barbeques as the sun goes down.
John Miller painted most of his famous paintings of the view from his home on the Hayle River along the beach towards Godrevy and when you stand on the beach you can understand why. Virginia Woolf was equally inspired, writing To The Lighthouse after a visit to Godrevy Island.
Gwithian is the perfect hideaway for those keen to explore the many cliff top paths and secluded coves. Gwithian truly is a place where you can get away from it all.
